Scotland has 790 offshore islands. Mainly divided into four main groups: Shetland, Orkney, Inner Hebrides and Outer Hebrides. At the time of the last census in 2001, there were 95 inhabited. Some are protected wildlife sanctuaries. Others can be visited is a day or be part of a bike packing itinerary. There is a rich history hidden or on show. Incredible landscapes waiting to be explored. Some of the most stunning beaches in the world. We could easily dedicate our entire bucket list to Scottish Islands.
